Hanging Vines Scarf

I've been busily knitting on my Philly Knitter's Secret Pal gift for the past week. Secret projects = poor blog content so I've been AWOL. I'm happy to report I finished the gift though.

Hanging Vines Done

I am really happy with the way this turned out! Although the picture would have you think otherwise, all the edges do V out in a nice pattern.

Pattern - Heartstrings Hanging Vines Scarf with 2 center panel repeats (73 stitches total). I purchased the pattern at Elann.
Yarn - Schaefer Anne, less than 1 hank
Needles - Addi Natura 4.5 mm (US #7)
Finished Measurements - 20"x60". It should really be longer and a bit narrower but that's as long as my blocking board goes. I'm going to have to either get blocking wires or an inexpensive rug runner if I plan to make more of these.
Comments - The yarn was a dream to work with. It didn't split and even behaved well on the K3tog's. Blocking took all of a couple hours. I washed it with Eucalan (the water did get pink but no noticeable color was lost), pinned it on my blocking board and turned on the ceiling fan.

As I mentioned above, I will look into buying blocking wires if I get the lace knitting bug. And since I have 3 more hanks of Anne in my stash I think there's a good chance I'll be making more lace scarves!

Oh, good. I was hoping you'd post details. The scarf came out beautifully!

Beautiful work! Did you do an extra repeat of the center section of the chart? Glad for the good review on the Anne - I've got some too but had heard a somewhat negative review of it for socks and was wondering about how it would behave for lacework.

Thanks for posting this!

I have to say, this was one of my very favourites gifts from yesterday. The photos just do not do it full justice; it's *so* gorgeous.

Maybe some day I can make one!

Beautiful beautiful work! I love the idea of knitting up just a single hank with only two ends to weave in. Love it! If you find a good supplier for those blocking wires, I'd love to know!

I just bought that pattern this weekend at the LYS. It's so beautiful and I love your color. Very elegant and well done!

The scarf is really beautiful! You've inspired me to get the pattern. The yarn works really nicely and the color is perfect. the blocking is tough. I'm going to look for an inexpensive runner. In the meantime, I use the double bed in my guest room (diagonally gets a good 80 plus inches or I lay towels over the carpet in the TV room.

I was thinking of using some white/blue/yellow Anne in my stash for my next Hanging Vines scarf. Good to hear that it works up nicely. And I see you made the larger size. You're more ambitious than me! ;-)
