new bedroom(s?)

OK, this is quite the mess. But you asked for it so here goes...

Here's a shot taken while standing in the big bedroom looking into the small bedroom. The door on the right goes to the hallway and the other door goes up to the attic. That brand new wood - that's the header I was talking about.

This one is from the opposite side. I'm standing in the small bedroom looking into the big bedroom. The 2 windows are looking out to the front of the house.

Knob and Tube!

This mess used to be a light fixture. The previous owners removed it, and filled in the hole with part of a shoe box and a ton of spackle. I'm not sure if you can see but there's really old electrical tape joining the hot wires. Just hanging out in the ceiling. Nice. Even I know not to do that.

All of the boxes were affixed to the walls. So they're just hanging now. All the wiring in these 2 rooms needs to be replaced.

Another shot looking into the small bedroom. I'm considering removing the wall that separates the bedroom from the steps leading up to the attic. I think it will make the room feel larger even if it doesn't add a bit of actual floor square footage. I'll have to close off the attic from the room at the top of the stairs but I don't think that will be too hard.

dining room

The dining room still needs work, but I do like it alot better now that it's red. This was a real pain to paint. I had to use a red tinted primer and 2 coats of red. And it stained any of the trim if it even came close to it. So after I was done I had to paint all the trim. But I'm happy enough with the final product:

After reviewing these pics I realize I need to get something on the walls...God they look bare!

kitchen

The kitchen is almost done. Just a few things left to do, but it's a totally functioning kitchen! Gotta love that :)

Here are a couple pics of the final product:

The flash is making the tile look a little hazy. It's much purer in color in person - closer to the 2 pics above. But you can see some of the detail better in these closeups:

See how cool the corners came out? Perfectly symetrical :)

I like the way the corbels pop against the dark tile
